Oh yes, one of my favourite outfits to date and a combo that I’m missing terribly this winter! The floral bardot top and these cute, ripped jeans are two pieces that I wore quite a bit in New York and London.

As much as I love to dress up and get glamorous, I’m very much a Converse and jeans kind of girl most of the time. I’ve spoken about my love of jeans before in this post here. A good pair will last you a really long time and can be styled in so many ways! Because of this I seem to always be drawn to them no matter how many I already have in my cupboard…

Naturally I had to buy a pair from American Eagle Outfitters. Their selection of jeans was like nothing I’ve seen before! This particular pair caught my eyes instantly though. They are so soft and feel more like trousers than jeans. The rips add a really edgy touch and there are white dye splatters at the bottom of the legs that create a different effect in contrast to the blue. The legs basically just a straight cut, not too narrow or too wide. There’s a little patch on the one leg that says ‘sweetie’. I don’t have any jeans with patches on them, so this was a fun addition to my wardrobe and a small detail that I really enjoy!

This bardot top from Forever 21 is also an absolute favourite of mine! Everything about it just speaks ‘happiness in the summer sunshine’. Indeed it is not summer in this part of the world, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop admiring all the pretty clothes.. The blush pink colour is an all time favourite of mine (I think you know this by now!) and the floral is so feminine and beautiful. What definitely adds to the femininity of the top is the sleeve. Apparently, these kind of sleeves that are full and flowing but then gather at the wrist are called  ‘bishop’ sleeves. Just a little something I learnt about five seconds ago! And of course, the main characteristic of the bardot top is the off-the-shoulder bit. I love collarbones (anyone else?) and I just think it’s so pretty when a bardot top such as this one, reveals this dainty part on women.

Are you about as in love with bardot tops as I am? And what do you think of the patch trend? Let me know!
