Products in garden

Give me a pretty product any day and I will swoon over it like there’s no tomorrow! But when the product is beautiful and works amazingly too, then you’ve got yourself a keeper. There’s something so exciting about opening up the product packaging and smelling that new product smell – you almost don’t want to use it! I love trying out new lotions and potions whenever I get the chance, but sometimes you just hit the jackpot with one, that you can’t persuade yourself to test another!

There are a few products that I have been using lately – some longer than others – though I have been loving them all. Teaming goods from body cream to face highlighter, eyebrow goodness and lush lippies, each giving me something completely unique to love and making it hard for me to part with. Keep reading to find out what they are and why I’ve enjoyed incorporating them in my beauty routine!

Dove Derma Spa body lotion

I use Dove body creams most of the time because I find them to be the most moisturising. Their thick, creamy texture is perfect especially during the winter months, but of course I love using them throughout the whole year. I’ve tried body lotions that have a very watery consistency, and I found that those aren’t nourishing on my skin at all. I picked up this particular Dove cream because it claims to have a gradual self-tanner. This is amazing for two reasons: firstly, I’m pale as it is, and secondly, I’m paler in winter. It also smells amazing! The smell reminds me of peachy-summery bliss, which if you ask me is a delight to experience every morning and evening! 😉

Lady Million: Paco Rabanne hand cream

I’ve spoken about this cream on here before in my post ‘The Perfect Fragrance for Date Night’. It came in a set with the Lady Million perfume and oh my goodness, it smells like heaven on my hands! The fact that I’m writing about it again can only be a testament to its allure! I keep it in my handbag so I can pop it out during the day, which I do multiple times. Although it’s not the most hydrating hand cream, as it isn’t too thick in consistency, it still moisturises perfectly and of course, leaves you with beautifully scented hands.

John Frieda Frizz Ease: 3 day straight straightening spray

This. stuff. is. so. GOOD! I’ve just been applying it to dry hair before I straighten it, as a heat protector, though it says it should be used on wet/damp hair (breaking them rules…) But it still turns out well! I love John Frieda products in general – I use their sheer blonde shampoo and conditioner, which are also really lovely. This Frizz Ease spray basically makes your hair feel as though you’ve had it done at a salon. Think frizz-free, smooth and shiny locks that smell INCREDIBLE. I don’t see myself getting rid of this beaut anytime soon!

Avène Cold Cream

Anyone who knows me will know how much I struggle with dry lips. It doesn’t help that I bite them – it’s a habit I struggle to break, and makes an appearance at every opportunity possible. Even more so during times of stress or anxiety. But I have been trying really hard to break this terrible pattern. I’m always giving different lip ice and balms a go, but I mainly end up losing them or they don’t work for me. So when I applied this cold cream for the first time, I knew it was a product to be safely stored and guarded! (Might be a bit over dramatic, but lip products are important to me) This cream is so hydrating and thick, it feels so soft on the lips and really locks in the moisture. I keep it on my dressing table so that I know I can’t lose it! And I apply it every morning and evening. It feels too heavy to be an all day lip ice (does anyone else look into lip ice to such an extent?!) hence why it has become my morning/evening hydrating secret.

LA Girl Velvet Contour Stick: hi-lite

Definitely not a new product on the shelf or in my drawer, but a favourite nonetheless. I have started applying this before my foundation, after my primer, to give my skin a ‘glow from within’ feel. It really works so well. This product has a velvet texture, as the name suggests, but it blends in nicely and has the perfect glow. It’s not that glittery highlight, but more of a soft, dewy, golden highlight, that looks beautiful on the face. I haven’t been applying it on top of my foundation anymore, not because I don’t like it but rather I just prefer the effect it gives my skin from underneath my foundation. I recommend trying this in winter if your skin starts to look or feel slightly dull – it brings a gorgeous glow and brightens up the face!

MAC Eyebrow pencil

Brows are so important. I can take the longest time on my eyebrows because I’m so particular about them. I honestly watch Desi Perkins eyebrow tutorials over and over again, and I still cannot understand how she gets her brows so PERFECT! Anyway, this product has been getting me there slowly but surely. It’s a great pencil to use, especially if you’re nervous when doing your eyebrows, because the actual product is really thin and can be controlled amazingly. The thin pencil also makes it so easy to create precise hair-like strokes, which is ultimately what you want. 😉 I would highly recommend it if you’re in the market for a new eyebrow product and are looking to try something easy and efficient!

MAC Extra Dimension Skin Finish: double gleam

The last product I’ve got to share with you is this gorgeous highlighter from MAC. The pearlescent, creamy shade is absolutely beautiful and looks perfect for an everyday look. Though it can be built up really nicely to make for a more striking, bold highlight. It’s described as a liquid-powder highlighter, something that stands out to me. I don’t like using too much powder because my skin tends to get super dry throughout the day, so a liquid-powder mixture offers a perfect combination! It’s a wonderfully soft product, and my oh my does it make the skin look luminous!
