“They’re my new ‘I don’t need a job, I don’t need my parents, I’ve got new boots’ boots!” Who remembers this line? If you have no idea what I’m talking about, that’s okay (not really, but ya know) it’s a fitting quote for the post! (just in the sense of boots…) But Rachel’s sister in Friends definitely knew what she was talking about when it came to boots. I must say, I kind of have to agree with the sentiment of them having the power to give you that much confidence! As the saying goes, “Give a woman the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world.”
But enough of the quotes, this post is not dedicated to sayings on shoes. Though they were both quotes that suddenly inspired this post quite a bit. It’s crazy to think that things you cover your feet with could be such a huge contributor to your confidence and image. When you put it that way, it makes you realise how strange us humans are! But you only dwell on that for a second, before going back to appreciating your shiny new boots! And really, there’s not much better than getting a new pair of shoes – let’s be honest?
Being a fan of both summer and winter, I am happy to welcome either season with open arms – and the perfect clothing to fit, obviously. Each season lends itself to different styles, textures and colours, none of which are mandatory, but provide opportunities to update our wardrobes – something we all love to do at some point, I’m sure! Over the past few winters though, I have acquired a beautiful collection of ankle boots. I’ve always had huge heart-eyes for boots, both knee-length and ankle, but my knee-length collection has decreased in size over the years sadly. However, I’m left with a collection of my favourite ankle boots that get me through the cooler days warmly, and stylishly…
– My Kurt Geiger babies
Ah, good old Kurt! These boots definitely take up a huge portion of my heart. I got these when I was in Wales in 2016 and they quickly became one of the best pairs of shoes I have ever owned. The gold detail of the zip is so slight but it makes a huge difference to the style. I’m also a fan of the heel size – it’s so perfect for when you want a bit of a heel but don’t feel like walking in stilettos! And last to mention is the pointed-toe shape. This immediately gives the boots a professional feel, which is cool because you can wear them super casually or more formally. Win!
– My Cotton On block heels
By far one of my best buys! Again, these are one of my favourites because of their block heel. It makes them so comfortable to wear all day, and it looks so chic! They have a grunge feel that’s emphasised with the gold buckles. So perfect for any occasion! I’ve had these for a few years as well and they have yet to let me down. I’m always up for an investment like that 😉
– My Forever 21 biker boots
These are my take on biker boots – possibly not as fierce as real biker boots should be, but my version nonetheless. These boots are so much fun to wear – they work with any outfit; skirts, jeans, dresses, pants, and whatever else you may be wearing! The detailing on them is silver, unlike my previous gold detailing. It’s a nice change though, and I reckon it makes them more biker-y!
– My Metallic Silver heeled boots
I dreamed of these for so long before I finally bought them. They’re the sock boot style and have the coolest heels. They’re have a metallic effect, which gives them such an edgy style. I am still as in love with them as I was when I finally gave in and bought them! It just goes to show that if you can’t stop thinking about something, there’s probably a reason… BUY THE BOOTS!
– My Brown Booties
The only brown ankle boots I love so much. These are the most comfortable boots to wear and I’ve had them for about five years! (once again, a really good investment…I think I’m onto something.) I swear I could run a marathon in these. And the brown gives a nice change from the all black err’thang!
