Hi guys!

It’s a new week and a new chance to do things differently 😉 With this in mind, I played with a bit of colour in this mermaid-inspired look. Nothing too crazy, but we’re slowly moving away from boring browns and beiges – go me!

SKIN:

EYES:

Using the Subtle Tease palette, I started off with a beige across the whole lid. (Fourth shadow from left, first shadow in row.) Then going onto the Passion Palette, which is part of the Marble Eyeshadow collection, I applied the shadow furthest on the left to the outer corners of my eyes. I then added the blue and the black shadows from this palette to the outer corners as well.

And then for the pop of mermaid blue on the centre of my lids – I used the blue from the Subtle Tease palette. (First row from the left, second shadow in the row.) This blue is absolutely beautiful, and you can build the pigment up depending on how striking you want it.

Over this colour, in the inner corners of my eyes I applied a little bit of the White Glitter shadow. This is really beautiful for extra effect and a bit more glam.

To blend these colours into my crease, I used the maroon-like shadow in the top right hand corner of the Moondust Palette and I mixed this with a tiny bit of the white shadow in the bottom left hand corner. Sweeping these across my crease and slightly up towards my brow bone, to make sure there were no sharp edges.

To do my winged liner, I used the Gel Eyeliner and Eyebrow Set in Black, from Mirantur. The gel eyeliner is really smooth and this makes it so easy to apply. It’s also a really dark black, which is what you want for a dramatic winged liner!

Around my cheekbones and slightly up my temples, I used the Mocha Bronzer. This product gives so much colour to the face, so it’s really nice to apply to the apples of the cheeks too. For my highlighter I used one of the Shimmer Sticks also from Mirantur – Luminescence in Gold. These Shimmer Sticks are really blendable, and are the perfect shimmer for a healthy glow.

My mascara was a mixture of Mirantur’s Black Waterproof Mascara and Essence Princess Lashes mascara. Using both mascara’s together really gives the lashes great volume. Also, because the wand of the Essence mascara is curved, it manages to curl my stubborn, straight lashes as I apply it.

And lastly, on my lips I used a Bobbi Brown lipstick called Pale Mauve. It’s really soft and feels pretty hydrating! When your lips get as dry and chapped as mine do, you take all the help you can get.

Let me know what you think of this look! And have a really good week 🙂
