Enjoy shopping? Then this place is for you π Β The Mall of Africa opened its doors to the world a little while ago already, but I went there for the first time last week. It’s BIG, beautiful and bouncing with all sorts of people! I don’t even think I managed to see everything, but what I did see, I really liked.
It has everything you’re looking for – from all the amazing clothing shops, such as Forever 21, Zara, H&M and so on. Plus it homes the most amazing-looking restaurants. Every restaurant I walked past, my legs wanted to do their own thing and walk inside! Not evening knowing the menu, but simply because the atmosphere and exterior just really captured me.
My favourite part of the mall, however, wasn’t even inside the mall funnily enough. It was the outside area, where a lot of the restaurants are situated, and a great, beautiful fountain is displayed in all its glory.
There’s such a beautiful view here. You can see out quite far ahead and there’s lots of greenery. It really is such a stunning part of the mall, where you can quietly take in Joburg’s beauty.
Unfortunately you are not able to take photo’s inside the mall (according to management), hence why all the photo’s are here. BUT, I’m not complaining. I couldn’t get enough of this fountain! π
After you’ve spent many hours walking the floors of Mall of Africa, you have endless choices of little places to stop. Either to grab a cup of coffee, a smoothie – or even a doughnut! Starbucks has made its second appearance in Joburg within this mall. It’s a HUGE Starbucks, and it has an awesome ambience inside. The perfect place to go and get a coffee, and perhaps sit there and read a book while you drink up. As for the doughnuts: Krispy Kreme is around the corner! π
So on my second day trip to this magical place (any place where you can shop is magic, no?) I stopped at Lovisa, because I’ve been searching for rings to wear for so long! I never ever manage to find my size though – but it was my lucky day and I got hold of some beautiful rings, that I can finally wear without hassle.
For those of you who have yet to visit the Mall of Africa – you definitely should get going soon. There is a lot to do and see, and it really is a nice adventure – especially if you end up outside, basking in the sun and sitting in front of the flowing fountain! YES π
Oh, and for those of you who are ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ fans: Mall of Africa has the shop Bang & Olufsen! – remember when Miranda gives Andy that long phone? I had a real fangirl moment when I saw this. (Maybe I’m just overboard addicted to The Devil Wears Prada. In that case, I apologise…)
*I would just like to thank my friend Nabila, for putting up with me and getting such amazing pictures!
